City to Accelerates Road Repair

Post-flood, as many as 700 potholes began rampant in the capital. Hence, Jakarta Provincial Government will speed up the repair, considering its existence endanger the safety of road users.

Repair has reached 50 percent. The task force continues to do sweeping every day

Head of Jakarta Bina Marga Department, Yusnada recorded there are 700 potholes that spread in five cities administration. Most of potholes are located in West Jakarta, which reached 30 percent, and followed by East Jakarta.

"Repair has reached 50 percent. The task force continues to do sweeping every day," he told, Friday (2/13).

City to Improve Road Damage in N. Jakarta

He admitted, although it is still in rainy season, the road repair remains to be done. It aims to prevent casualties. 

"There is no other way, in which if the road is damaged again, we will repair it again. This is a must," he said.

According to Yusnada, there are 15 teams on the field every day to repair potholes. Each team can repair 70 square meters. But it is stopped during rainy season. The budget for the repair is reaching Rp 40 billion for each region.

"Actually, we have budget for every regional of Rp 40 billion for a year handling. We will wait the amount and the time from the officers because all potholes must be repaired," he said.
